  1. The fact they call it a confidence monitor only proves your point. He's delusional.
Bill is completely out of touch with reality and what YouTube has become. Television is dead.

  2. Dude Bill Maher doesn't write his own scripts/jokes. He has a team of millennials/zoomers writing for him. Which is where the term normie comes from within his lexicon.

  3. (This was many years ago but I think still relevant) my cousin was an intern on his show a while ago and apparently he had a rule that interns were not allowed to look at him in the eyes. This was many years ago and this is like a third hand story but I’ve always believed it bc it just feels like a rule he’d have. Even if it’s not true (which I and my family think it is true) the fact that my family and I could believe it for years and not even question it says something.

  4. This is so weird, because Maher is supposed to be the guy who defends labor. You’d think that during a time like this when unorganized labor is basically telling corporate America to take their shit jobs and stick them up their penny-pinching asses that Maher would try and back up them up, or at the very least try and convey what their real grievances are. But no. He just calls us lazy. What’s wrong, Bill? Are you not getting serviced as fast as you want to?

  5. You made a lot of good points… and I actually loved the outro music but don't know if it was meant to be some kind of ironic thing….. anyway… you did fail to mention that Bill Maher has been a touring standup comedian paying his dues since the 80s. I think that pretty much qualifies his statement that about people wanting to skip the "developing a talent" portion of their career.

  6. Interesting thing about Gen Z-ers and Millenials who want to be influencers/content creators is that most of them reasonably wish for like some extra money by making money off content they make while not at their "real job". Most content creators I know personally around my age due it for fun and a little bit of a cushion with money. Not expecting to make a true living.

  7. One of bill Maher's problems is he thinks that southpark is the prevailing voice of our generation, their jokes have lined up with his criticisms for years and he still considers the writers as the new generations.

  8. The sheer irony of bill criticizing content creators, while not only being one, but one for a dying medium whose only audience is stay at home parents and tired people that just got home from work.

  9. Bill Maher feels like a misplaced late night show host from Gotham City, in that he only makes jokes about those beneath him, and then gets killed by the Joker in the third act.

  10. I don't actually mind Bill Maher. Or…at least I used to not mind him, a long time ago when he still put some work into his standup. But the problem the New Rules segment became his brand. And it's literally just "here's everything about the world that I hate." So he finds a reason to see the worst in everything. And 80% of it is tenuous logic at best because he has to make up a reason why he hates whatever is topical that week.

He still capable of writing a joke that makes me laugh. Like, he's still got the craft as a comedian. But his reliance on hot takes has been tired for a while.

  11. Thank you! I'm so sick of maher's style of "comedy". He's not funny and he's ageist and classist. I think it's pretty sick that he thought up that rant after hearing about Gabby Petito's murder, that's messed up.

  12. I watched this episode when it came out and I was saying the EXACT same thing. So incredibly disrespectful off the bat, and then to get so many points wrong?? He didn’t even do research for this I swear. I used to genuinely enjoy and agree with Bill Maher’s takes with the occasional eye roll, but recently EVERY single opinion is “young people bad” even when it came to literal murder

  13. the call out of his constant pausing for applause was incredibly cathartic for me. like… its so uncomfortable even though i only ever see 5 minute segments of his show at a time. the dude could NOT have a bigger ego

  14. The way he’s talking there reminded me about just how dumb people can be. I’m begging the people to connect all the dots before speaking on something 🤣🤣

  15. I give this guy a real disgusted "yikes." And I'll do it looking down on him with my tall ass. Cause… Eugh….YIKES
Oh and, uh. Nice vid Eddy, oh and thanks for giving me the dream of wanting to go see those giant trees…. Those are my people…. They look pretty amazing
